Galatians 5:23 ESV
Gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

Training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,

And knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness,
Galatians 5:22-25 ESV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
Proverbs 25:16 ESV
If you have found honey, eat only enough for you, lest you have your fill of it and vomit it.
Temperance is self-control in holding back or even discipline not to overindulge in some things. Sometimes, it is difficult to even understand what to have self-control over when to practice self-control over something. To me, there are things that you can overindulge in and do not need to temperance. Galatians 5 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
I can think of many examples where I over indulge and have to work through the consequences of the action (Proverbs 25:16)
