ALWAYS inspect your equipment for signs of wear as failure can occur at any time. Inspect straps for fray and buckles and steps for signs of stress or failure before each use.
ALWAYS wear a Fall Arrest System (FAS) consisting of a full-body harness with a lineman’s belt after leaving the ground. You MUST stay connected at all times after leaving the ground. If you are not wearing a FAS that meets TMA standards, DO NOT leave the ground. Failure to wear a proper FAS can result in serious injury or even death.
ALWAYS have a plan for if you should have a product failure; nothing lasts forever.
ALWAYS exercise weapon safety when climbing.
DO NOT leave your DIYBowhunting products in the elements while you are not hunting. This system is designed to be put up and taken down with each use. Extended exposure to the sun and the elements will degrade the strength of materials over time, which can result in failure.
NEVER use a tree-climbing aide while under the influence of alcohol, medication, or illegal substances. Using products while under the influence of any of these substances may result in serious injury or even death.
NEVER climb dead or leaning trees as they may break or fall. NEVER climb utility poles. NEVER fire a weapon while climbing. NEVER exceed manufacturer total weight limits. NEVER substitute components of products; use only pieces identified for the design.
