Gamo Wildcat Whisper Review
This Gamo line of air rifles – Wildcat Whisper Air Rife – is a perfect way to introduce youth hunters to hunting. It all starts with the safety around handling a weapon. Air rifles of today look and feel like many higher caliber rifles.
Gamo air rifles provide an experience to get comfortable shooting for your youth hunter. Less noise and punch of a higher caliber hunting firearm may be exactly what you are looking for when introducing your kid to the shooting. I reccomend reviewing and even going through the hunter safety classes that are offered. You can find your resources for hunter safety through your local DNR ( or wildlife conservation organization).
The Wildcat whisper is a step above an entry-level air rifle. It’s rated at 1300 ft/s, outfitted with a scope, and has a little weight. When shooting, a smaller youth will need a good solid rest in order to be accurate. When you do get out hunting, a monopod or bipod is probably needed.
Accuracy is great with this air rifle. We made sure to consistently hit a quarter-half dollar size group at 30 yds before heading after small game. I have read other reviews and they noted the scope will come loose after shooting while and is something to be aware of. Light thread lock will take care of this, especially because there are no other open sites on the gun.
Overall I think this is a great purchase and an easy way to have a fun overall experience!
