John 15:18-19 ESV

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

Isaiah 53:7 ESV

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.

1 John 5:19 ESV

We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

Hebrews 13:8 ESV

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Fortitude is all in the mind. It’s the strength to move forward when things are not going well at least in your mind. To me, this is exactly the message from above. When you think the world is out to get you or “hates” you, they are always worse elsewhere. We know this deep down and it’s not easy to move through some situations. Sometimes just think of this perspective allows you to have the mental fortitude to move through the adversity. (Many times this adversity is also the place of greatest learning. So, we don’t always want to avoid adversity and this is sometimes what gives us the fortitude!)
