Athens Ridge 32 Review

Athens Ridge 32 Review

Athens Archery is a growing bow company and from what I have experienced, is second to none when it comes to customer experience and overall build quality of their products. This is my Athens Archery Ridge 32 Review!

I have owned and shot two Athens bows over the years. The first being the Athens Ace, which I will link a video (Bottom) to the build and review of Athens Archery as a company. I purchased the Ridge 32 this year. I set it up and hunted all year with the Ridge 32 and I think it’s time for a full honest review of my experience. Full disclaimer – I am an Athens Archery Ambassador. I almost begged to become a member because of the Athens community, customer service, product quality and ease of setup and tuning. Read below to understand why.

First -Setup and Tuning Athens Archery Ridge 32

Out of the box, setup and tuning are went well, to say the least. I did have a bow of a similar axle to axle, draw length and draw weight to transfer a lot of equipment over from. For the do it yourself person who likes working on their own bow, the Ridge 32 was easy to work on. The only thing I needed a bow press for was the Peep It install and anchor knot from Sawtooth Outdoor Products.

Once the setup was complete, I really only adjusted my sight for yardage. I did take it to a local shop to paper tune, just to check my arrow flight. There was nothing to adjust. Tuning was very minimal. I like the cam and cable design Athens uses. The cables do not split or yoke, and I think this helps to keep everything centered.

One thing to note, Athens Bows are tuned and tested before they leave the factory. Probably why everything shot so well out of the box. You can always call Athens if you do have questions. More on this in the Customer Support and Community below.

Customer Service and Support from Athens Archery

“Welcome to the family.” This is how you will be welcomed when you do purchase an Athens bow. I can personally say this is the feeling you have when interacting with the Athens Customer service and technical support. From my first Athens Ace, and now to my Ridge 32, the service is awesome. On top of that, the family you join as an Athens shooter is amazing. Everyone is there to support if you have questions and even give you info on what equipment works with your bow. You can find them in the Athens Archery Shooters Facebook Group.

A quick personal story with my Ridge 32. In setting up my Ridge 32 I made a mistake (My fault completely!) I removed the draw stops to press the bow in order to install my peep sight. After installing the peep, I forgot to install the draw stops and proceeded to draw the bow for peep alignment. In doing this, I overdrew the bow and a cable slipped off the cam. My heart just about stopped! Right away I contacted Athens support and they let me know what to do in order to be back up and running right quick. I was so excited to get out and shoot this bow, I was rushing my setup. Again, completely my fault here.

Athens Archery Ridge 32 Review (1 Year Later)

I figured a follow-up review was in order after owning and shooting this bow for a year. Now that the hunting seasons are about to end for the year, my reviews have not changed. I am not easy on my equipment. Hunting mainly public ground, I had to bring this bow through some really thick and tangled messes.

I did add a Sword Sight and TAP Element X stabilizer from my original setup. Accuracy and overall durability are what do it for me. I have no complaints. It has done everything I have thrown at it. For me, it comes down to consistent accuracy and durability.

Next steps – I will be experimenting with some arrow builds this offseason. My arrow this year was close to 550 grains. I’d like to try some lighter options in order to pick up more speed. These NC deer are jumpy!
