Prudence is not a word I use often and had to look up the definition. (It is used often in many books I read.) Prudence is the ability to govern oneself by use of reason according to Webster’s Dictionary. Gaining knowledge and acting based on the knowledge is what I would like to say is common, but not sure this is always the case.
I think of the choices I have made in the past and specifically the choices where the outcome was not successful. From those specific times, have I said, “yeah, I knew that, or could have figured that out if I took the time to reason it through.” Using prior knowledge to reason through a choice and even gain more knowledge in the process!
