Luke 12:15 ESV
And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
Matthew 6:24 ESV
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.
Money is what seems to drive the economy right? Our culture has evolved in a way that may lead us to believe that if we are rich (money-related) there will be no more suffering (struggles). I like to think of being “rich” in a slightly different way…even though I get caught up in the Money struggle often. Being “rich” to me is also subject to the individual and yes, some suffering may be removed, but more suffering will soon follow. So, I guess I am no different than a rich man.
Mathew 6:24 is also interesting to me. From experience, I know my actions and decisions change when I am focused on money vs maybe just helping others.
