3D Printed Outdoor Products
3D printers have come a long way in the last 5 years. I am ready to bring my 3D printed outdoor products to life! I have been watching the industry and the impact they have had on everything from rapid prototyping to medical, artificial limbs, and even manufacturing. I finally took the plunge into printing this past month and want to share my experience.
Creality Ender 3
As always, I did a ton of research online to see what printer to buy. In the end, I settled on the Ender 3 from Creality. I wanted an entry-level printer with good reviews. It really came down to the Creality Ender 3 and Prusa printer. Both are a form of open-source printer design and community and are both top-ranked by many well know 3D printers on YouTube. Both have entry-level printers and it came down to lead time and price once I determined the quality of the print was going to be there. Creality has won many awards over the last few years, so I decided to take the plunge. See my review in the video.

Ender 3 Kit Build
Overall, I was impressed with the Ender 3 kit build. I made it a project with my kids to expose them to the world of 3D printing. I highly recommend a kit build if you are just entering the world of 3D printing. You get to understand all the moving parts and I believe this will help once you have to start troubleshooting failed prints. The Ender 3 kit is easy enough for anyone who can follow a 12 step set of instructions and maybe just a little bit of technical background. The instructions are laid out very similarly to a Legos set. The tools are all provided and there is no soldering required for any electrical connections. Everything is plugged with a connector on the electrical side. One note: I do recommend printing the Control board backing listed above as one of your first prints. For some reason, their circuit board is not fully enclosed. (my only con to this printer so far, especially for the price you can buy it at.)
What 3D Printed Outdoor Products?
YES – I have always had so many ideas when it comes to modifications to existing products or just customizing a product to my specific needs when it comes to the equipment I use and the hunting style I choose. So I have already started prototyping and learning the ins and outs of 3D printed models, materials, and parameters to print at. #Alwayslearning
Stay tuned as I post the ideas, models, and even how to’s.
