3D Printed Logos on T-Shirts / Fabric

Use your 3D Printer to print on Fabric

Using a 3D Printer to print on fabric like T-shirts?!

Short story – It can be done AND there may be a better place to use this quick turnaround very customized logo or word printing for fabric. There are a few things to consider when trying to print on Fabric.

  • Z – height – Raise it up – You will see my first attempt at this was a fail! Fabric Stretches – so you need to get the height just right so the fabric is not moving around while you print yet making sure the extruder nozzle is pushing plastic into the fabric for good adhesion.
  • Keep the moving and heated parts clear while printing – Esepcially with T-Shirts where the shirt is bigger than the 3D Printer bed.
  • Choice in filament works better with flexibles. I used TPU. This is flexible and my hope was to almost surround the fabric fibers for good adhesion.
